A
Wilmington native, I graduated from New Hanover High School in 1983.
I attended the University of North Carolina at Wilmington until
1986 when I got married. I moved with my husband to Florida so that
he could attend school, knowing that I would come back and pursue
an Education Degree. I graduated from UNCW in 1990 with a degree
in Elementary Education with an emphasis in Reading and Writing.
I started teaching a 6th grade class in Brunswick County at South
Brunswick Middle School. After having my first child, (Katie, now
an 8th grader at CFCI) I transferred to Leland Middle School and
continued to teach 6th grade. After my second child was born, (Pete,
a 5th grader at CFCI) I decided to stop teaching and devote more
time to being a MOM!
I worked at
a preschool then started working at my church as Youth Coordinator
and Christian Education Director on a part time basis.
Six years later, I again turned to my true passion – teaching.
I believe that all children can learn and love to learn. I am delighted
to have the opportunity to work at CFCI to create an environment
that allows wonderful things to happen.
My hobbies include
my children, soccer and going to the beach!
