Anna Mallard,
guidance counselor at CFCI, is a graduate of Charleston Southern
Univeristy with a BA in Music Therapy and a return graduate of Cornerstone
University in Grand Rapids, Michigan where she obtained her MA in
Counseling. She began practicing dual areas of music therapy in
a clinical setting and licensure as a professional counselor in
a group practice. Her background includes 8 years in the mental
health field as a clinical specialist for individuals with severe
emotional disturbance and dual diagnoses.
Before relocating to Wilmington with her husband, she served as
a therapist within a group practice, led psychoeducational groups
within a psychiatric facility, and facilitated healing groups for
women and families of divorce. As a leader of growth groups, Anna
believes in creating a supportive environment for focusing on best
practice for healthy balance and communication.
Anna loves to spend time engaging the rich presence of community
and arts culture of Wilmington. In finding balance, her focus afterwork
is full of moments sharing friendship with her husband, getting
coffee with friends, playing guitar, writing music, singing, taking
portrait pictures, and practicing yoga.
“I look forward to being the guidance counselor in this great learing
environment at CFCI. My commitment will be strong in providing services
and enrichment to combat any seen or unseen barriers to learning
and social development.”
