"Senora
S" began studying Spanish back in 1999. Her love of languages
led her to major in Spanish with a minor in Danish. She was fortunate
enough to live in Spain for two semesters getting to really focus
on the language, architecture and history of the country.
She finished
her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Minnesota in 2002 and
the day after graduation drove down to Chapel Hill. She soon began
teaching and tutoring Spanish and English. She worked in immersion
classrooms in Chapel Hill for two years while her weekends and nights
were spent playing in her band. In 2004 she received a scholarship
to go abroad and do some graduate work in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
She lived there for a year travelling and exploring. Upon returning
she decided to pursue her teaching licensure at UNCW. After getting
married in July 2007 she moved with her husband, who is also a Spanish
teacher, to Wilmington and has enjoyed the CFCI experience.
