Joanne Brinkley has been teaching at CFCI, in the K-1 loop, since it opened in 2000. She is a founding teacher. Before that, she taught first grade in Wilmington for four years and Reading Recovery/Reading in Duplin County for four years. She has a masters degree in Reading Education.

Joanne came to CFCI because she was excited about the opportunity to begin a charter school that focused on inquiry and creating a community of learners among students, parents, and faculty. She served on the CFCI Board of Directors from 2002-2008.

Joanne and her husband, Brian, have a five year old daughter who will begin kindergarten in the fall at CFCI. Joanne is looking forward to continuing to move CFCI forward and to making it a great place for learning for everyone!
