Joanne Brinkley has been teaching for 14 years. She taught for four years in Duplin County. While there, she was trained as a Reading Recovery teacher and taught at risk first graders for three years. Beth Carter will be teaching first grade in 2010 – 2011 - her 11th year at CFCI - and is one of the founding teachers of the school. She graduated from Georgia Southern College and UNC Chapel Hill with a Masters degree in Reading. Mrs. Carter has taught at the college level, third grade, first grade, kindergarten and preschool. Leeanne and her husband Patrick relocated to the Wilmington area from Woodbridge, Virginia. Leeanne has a degree in Special Education and Physical Education from West Virginia University and a certification in Learning Disabilities from the University of Virginia. She has over twenty years experience teaching in a variety of settings. She came to us from Prince William County Schools where she was an Elementary Learning Disabilities teacher. Leeanne is a long term substitute for Mrs. Benazzi who is on maternity leave. She is excited to be a part of the CFCI community and is enjoying getting to know the Wilmington area.
